The BicyclingPlus Research Collaborative
With more than four decades of bicycle research, UC Davis is a leader in studying the world's most sustainable transportation mode. Prior research has covered a wide range of topics including bicycling behavior and dynamics, infrastructure and planning tools, and bicycling-supportive policy. The BicyclingPlus Research Collaborative is a new initiative to disseminate past bicycle research, showcase current research projects, and expand our scope beyond conventional bikes and into emerging forms of micromobility including e-bikes and e-scooters. As our name implies, we are collaborative by nature working with researchers from a variety of universities and centers and partnering with government agencies and private industry. The collaborative is an affiliated research center of the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis (ITS-Davis).
Davis
Davis, California leads the nation in bicycling as a mode of transportation with a higher share of workers commuting by bicycle than any other city in the United States. Bikes are a common and normal part of life in Davis, and both the city and the University of California, Davis have implemented numerous programs and policies that encourage and celebrate bicycling. Davis is thus a living laboratory for research on bicycling and emerging forms of micromobility.
