About the Active Transportation Photo and Video Library

The Active Transportation Photo and Video Library is a shared online repository that showcases bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, micromobility use, people of all ages and abilities walking and biking in their communities, and other visual representations of active transportation concepts. Many people have contributed to the library, making images available for use in presentations and educational materials. 

Usage Guidelines

Photos and videos are available for viewing purposes only (i.e., no modification) in non-commercial projects or for informational/educational reasons only, including web pages, presentations, and reports. Images used on web pages shall not give permission to download and save images/videos for any reason.

You are required to cite the source and the photographer/videographer when using images/videos taken from this online repository.

Contribute to the Library

Videos and photos submitted to the Active Transportation Video and Photo Library will be made publicly available in the shared online repository with attribution. 

Photo Requirements
Photographs must be in digital format. All files submitted must be 20 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 2,100 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 2,100 pixels tall (if a vertical image). Photos should not have text or graphics superimposed on them. 

Video Requirements
Videos must be in a digital format. All files must be a maximum of 1 minute in length, with a maximum file size of 500 MB.  Videos should be in MP4 format with at least 1080p resolution.  Videos can be either portrait or landscape and should not have text or graphics superimposed on them.

Image Submission Agreement 
By submitting a photo or video, you must confirm that the image and its contents are available for public use without infringing on intellectual property or contractual rights. Images submitted will be reviewed by UC Davis staff to determine if they are appropriate for including in the shared online repository, but not for their merit or legality.
